Military Madness
Reader Rating:

Military Madness is a turn-based strategy game that uses a hexagon tile set. The moon is the battlefield as a prison uprising sparks a full-blown war between the Allied and Axis forces. In battles against a human or computer controlled opponent, the player(s) uses each turn to move and attack with his or her units. The game features combat bonuses which are based on terrain and unit formation. The player also starts each mission with a preset amount of units but can capture other units which are standing in neutral or enemy factories. In the single player campaign, the player must utilize a variety of unique unit types and defeat the computer opponent by either wiping out its forces or capturing its prison camps. The player must successfully defeat the computer opponent in 16 missions to gain complete and total victory.
This game is similar to Nintendo's Advance Wars games on the Game Boy Advance and DS. Not surprisingly, it directly competed with and was commonly compared to Nintendo's Famicom Wars for the NES in the early 1990s. Though similar to those games, Military Madness still sets itself apart with its unique features and sci-fi theme. Those interested in the early iterations of turn-based strategy games should definitely download this game.

The game was released on Nintendo's Virtual Console on the 18th of December, 2006.Reader Reviews
