The ultimate player vs. player arcade game starring those encouragable Brothers Mario. It's a work in simplicity, with a static playing field and that lovable wrap-around feature (where moving off the left side of the screen brings the player back to the right) that somehow went out of vogue in the '80s. But it really stands the test of time because of the frenzy between two players trying to kill baddies and collect coins for doing so, all while trying to trip each other up. Few games since its creation over 20 years ago have afforded such frantic and balanced one-on-one battle.
Legacy...
Gamers might want to hold off and wait for Nintendo to add Super Mario Bros. 3 to the Virtual Console, as it contains a graphically-updated Mario Bros. as a multiplayer option – unless Nintendo makes the insideous choice to remove it from the ROM.Reader Reviews
