Posted October 19th 2011 by J. Edison Thomas.

With Halloween soon upon us, I booted up Netflix this weekend for a "Monster Movie Night," only to find that Netflix has kind of a shitty selection of classic horror. In raw number of titles I'm sure it's capable of meeting many people's needs, but when I flip through it and find nothing of interest, well, it's not as if I'm going to blame myself for already having seen everything worthwhile on offer. I was in the mood to catch up on some horror classic I'd missed, something like Nightmare on Elm Street (I have seen very few horror movies) and instead I got Halloween: H2O. I think that's the one with Busta Rhymes in it, but I wasn't in the mood to confirm this. Fortunately, Netflix's business model of buying up movies that are not commercially viable in other formats results in a suspiciously large foreign horror selection. So I watched Dead Snow, a Norwegian zombie movie. But it was boring, so instead I'll write about a movie I saw in circumstances completely unrelated to this introductory paragraph.
