Gundam Seed Destiny Episode Discussion. (Spoilers included. be warned)
here is the best place to download Destiny

http://seed.eatshoe.com/

so anyways, who has seen the episodes?

Altought the start of the show started with a bang with the theft of the 3 ZAFT gundams and the battle against Impulse, and then the terrorist action caused by coordinator rebels still pissed at earth and not satisified whom droped the remains of junious seven on earth which caused probably millions of death on earth and yet started a new war between zaft and earth, it seemed the last few episode started to drag down a bit (even though it was for character developement and the war brooming on the horizon.

episode 12 changed all that, with the Minerva getting ambushed by the earth fleet, i couldn't say, SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET when Shinn got pissed and basicaly whiped the entire fleet and the earth's new mobile armor.

Good god this is ****ing awesome.

That and in the preview episode of 13, Freedom is coming back

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET.

episode 13 is called "ressurection of the wings" or something like that.

and not to mention that the Earth Alliance new Mass Produced Mobile Suit is pretty sweet looking.

I was amazed that the EAF's mobile armor was able to withstand the Minerva's positron blast. It looks, though, like Shinn took care of things. Also, do you think ORB should've allied with ZAFT instead of the EAF? My brother seems to think so, but I can't see exactly why they would.

Also, I suspect that Chairman Dullindal is actually evil. He seems pretty suspicious, especially with the whole Lacus situation.

And Buu, what is the masked guy's name? I have heard him called Phantom Pain, but I don't entirely trust the subbed version I get fom animeone.

The guy's name is Neo

and

This is pretty though, but i'd have Orb stay neutral. because being a nation on earth could possibly backstab them if they allie themselves with Zaft instead of EA. Like the Orb Captain said "It's pretty Ironic we are allying ourselves with the ones who invaded us 2 years ago, and helping them destroy the Minerva, the ship that saved the earth from total destruction", or something along those lines

and about the Lacus part thing, i can kind of understand. I mean, Lacus is a Zaft symbol of peace and calms the people down. so no, i don't think Chairman Dullindal is bad, altought i might be proven wrong later in the series :p

Obviously neutrality would be nice, but last time they did that their whole country would eb destroyed. My brother thinks that since ZAFT will likely hold onto their base at Australia that they'll go after Orb next because of how important it is. I would agree, except that the EA would likely attack them if they didn't ally with them. So, I think Orb is an impossible situation where they're pretty much screwed no matter what.

As for Dullinadal, well he always seems to tell people exactly what they want to hear. I think he is either truly a good guy and talented statesman or he is a very subtle manipulator and coordinators can be tricky ones.

Yes, Orb is in a very bad position has it is, and i can't wait to know what will happen.

And I believe Chairman Dullindal is a good person, it just seems that way. He reminds me a lot of Cagalli's Father.

OK, so I saw it.
Dullindal seems too nice, personally. I think he is doing what needs to be done to keep ZAFT from going to "war," but I just don't think he's telling the whole truth. He says he wants peace. He says he wants Athrun to go to fight along his own convictions, without orders. Then what does he do? He orders Athrun to support the Minerva, saying some BS about how it could play the role the Archangel played in the last war. Of course it could. What did the Archangel end up doing? Saving people the enemy wanted dead, and escalating the final conflict. That's not to say they didn't have good intentions, but there are two sides to everything. Often, a clear, rational voice will do nothing but anger each side for proving them both wrong, especially when both sides know they are right. They fight all the harder to try to prove they are "right" by being the ones left to write the history books. The Archangel's crew had the best of intentions, but that's the road to hell for you.

Dullindal says he wants peace. What world has peace but the one with people who are all the same in it?

And the guy with the blue hair? He's a prick.

Chairman Dullindal sure seems very suspicious with his good natured talks and everything, and that's why i think we're going to get one hell of a bang sometimes later. a big twist or whatever. But Mia seems such like a good girl that i don't see her doing bad deeds in future episodes. unless she has a dark past or whatever

Well, i just saw episode 13...

And what a pretty good episode that was too. First you get a coordinator task force (zaft??? who knows...) trying to assassinate Lacus Clyne, which forces Kira back on Freedom. And him kicking there ass easily. looks like he hasn't lost his touch Big Grin

and episode 14...

looks like archangel and crew are coming back (well some of em anyways)!!

yay!!!

I just watched ep 13, and it was pretty good (ju as you say Buu).

As for the next episode, it looks like Cagalli is going through with marrying everyone's favorite jerk. Anyway, I have high hopes for this series, and I wonder how Archangel's return will affect things. Could we see more Asuran vs Kira in the future? That would be awesome...

Kira vs Athrun? I doudt it won't happen. more like Kira vs Shinn. And I'm betting for now we won't be seeing the Archangel more, because i'm guessing they are going to do what Bartfelt said, go refuge themselves at PLANT.

Here are some rumors concerning who was behind the assassination attempt

either Chairman dullindal trying to replace lacus with mia campbell. that and it was the terrorist group that dropped the colony? could he be the master mind of that???

that or lacus wasn't the only targeted. Kira was also, and it was Yuna's doing...

And doesn't this situation remind you of Iraq war?

1. Al Qaida airplanes smash into towers.
1. Coordinator Terrorist group smash Colony on earth.

2. Earth Alliance blames everything on ZAFT.
2. USA blames everything on Iraq.

3. Earth Alliance attacks Zaft
3. USA invades Iraq.

I don't know, but i think that was really inspired.

Possibly, but I think that is sort of a stretch. I mean, everything that has ahppened so far follows pretty logiallcy from SEED. Also, I wouldn't compare ZAFT and Iraq as far as the war is concerned because the US went to war against Afganistan first. Secondly, ZAFT has a lot of military power, and Iraq didn't have much. There could be some inspiration, I don't deny it, but it seems unlikely to me.

EDIT: Some other thnigings I wish to bring up about ep 13.

-Isn't Cagalli a coordinator? I could've sworn...
-Despite the fact that the terrorists may have been responsible for the assassination attempt, the terrorists likely have links to the ZAFT military, after all, how else could they get such technology?
-Dullindal has reasons for wanting to kill the eral Lacus. If he takes out the real one then he has his own Lacus who will do as he says, giving him greater power.

I don't think Cagalli is a coordinator. But that might be possible, although we probably won't find out, anytime soon anyways..But for now, i think the belief is that she's a natural.

And yes, i also believe the terrorists have Zaft connection, and like i said, i believe Dullindal is behind all that. well, it's suspicious anyways, i cant really comfirm or denie that Tongue

The makers of Gundam SEED sure like having naked people in their openings.

Nevertheless, cool pics Buu. Also, the expression on the captain's face as she is aiming the gun at Neo...interesting.

Yes, I was quite worried...

about Cagalli getting married with Yuna. I mean, he's an asshole basicaly. I'm glad that Kira decided to go through with that and "kidnap" Cagali before she said "I do". Because i'd be damn pissed if Athrun was thrown out like that. And I was also glad the Orb commander decided to let the Archangel go despite all that. He's a good man.

Yeah. I am surprised that Cagalli is so weak willed, but things were stacked against her. Also, Yuna is simply a jerk. He'll probably die a fiery death.

Cried like a woman too when Cagalli was kidnapped Big Grin

And i wouldn't call her weak willed. She's a strong girl. Not many people realise the situation she's in. head of state basicaly, in a conflict her country can't possibly ignore, and all that at the age of 18.

Episode 15 was enjoyable, nothing earth shattering, but it had solid character development.

And yeah, looks like the next episode will be one of those amazingly unexciting recap eps. Wondrous.

I was surprised that Athrun got informed so soon that it was Kira that kidnapped Cagalli. You know, it coul've added more development in Athrun trying to figure out where she is. but now that he knows that she's with Kira, i'm sure his worries diminished. I mean, Archangel is one of the strongest spaceships built, and Kira has Freedom, the only gundam with nuclear capabilities (that we know off anyways)...

I agree. I think, however, that we will see some conflict between Asuran's love of Cagalli and that one purple haired girl who is after him.

By the way, it seems that Destiny is following the path of Mobile Suit Gundam: go to earth, get chased by masked guy, have lots of battles, etc. Of course, I don't mind...

Well, they just announced who will be singing the 3rd opening song. and it will be an unknow 15 year old girl named Hitomi Takahashi.

but fear not. The 3rd opening song of Gundam Seed, which was really good in my opinion, was sung by Nami Tamaki. Then, she was unknown and only 14.

Well, episode 16 turned out pretty good.

And you can see a lot more blood then in Gundam Seed, where you could only see it a few times in the original.

Especially when the EA soldiers shot the civilians because they tried to cross over.

and it was an action packed episode too. with Neo's squad attacking the Minerva and Neila Bongo.

A good episode. It seems that Neo's decision to attack wasn't especially wise. He ended up injuring the EA's plans for the attack on that Zaft base around Australia (Capertenaria or something). Also, I am pleased to see that they took a little time to develop the characters of Neo's squad.

One more thing, is it just me or is the whole "core splendor system" really inefficient? Why not just have the suit ready and then launch it?

it wasn't wize, but i don't think he expected Savior to show up, which to me, is the difference maker. if he wasn't there, i wouldn't be surprised if the Minerva was sunk

Core Splender will work one way or another later on, just like it did in Victory Gundam. So don't worry about it. And besides, one broken leg and then hop, quick recovery with a new set Big Grin

I had forgotten about Savior, and you do have a point. Although Shinn was taking out those EA suits relatively easily, he was struggling against the Chaos suit. On top of that, the Abyss was really owning everyone underwater. And about the Core Splendor, all I meant was that truly such a system would be not very effective (the separate launching of parts leaves those sent first open to attack), but since this is a Gundam series, such things don't matter (besides, it looks pretty cool, and what else matters?).

I just watched 17, and it was solid. I found the dialogue concerning the fake Lacus's clothing (and the size of certain body parts) hilarious. The tension between Shinn and Asuran was interesting, and I hope to see a cool battle play out soon in Western Eurassia.

One more thing, the expression of Lacus's face when her double [her name escapes me] was dancing around on tv was priceless.

Well, 18 is out. The battle was solid; not very good, but definitely enhoyable. It seems the EAF has already started using those projector shields more. Interesting...

The next episode looks intriguing, and I hope it will prove that the chairman is evil, as I have aways suspected. You just can't trust those cocky coordinators Wink

Man, that was everything I ever wanted to see in a battle. And it didn't drag on forever, either. It was definitely solid. I would have liked to see some more suit-suit combat without just missiles and guns, but there's not much you can do on the ground.

I have noticed that the ground battles in Gundam tend to be not as good as the space battles, but I usually just ascribe that to how space lends itself to larger scale battles while ones on earth are usually more confined.

not a very action packed episode, but more plot development i suppose.

and Mia Campbell and chairman are now on earth with the minerva at one of the zaft bases.

and mr. chairman is acting a bit weird and suspicious. i mean, he wanted to ask if he knew where the archangel was and if he thought the real lacus was on board...

I too am very suspicious of the chairman. He seems very manipulative. Also, his little speach about the economic causes of war struck me as odd, because he seems to have a secret agenda.

One more thing, the interaction between Neo and Stella and the interaction between the chairman and Rey are sort of similar. Both have a strange admiration for their superior.
