And I'll bet $130 million that Vick turns to **** before that contract is over.

I wouldn't say that, but I would bet $130 million injuries claim his career long before that contract is over.

Yeah, quite the game goig on right now (vikkings/packers). Did anyone catch that bio on Brett before the game???? Almost made me cry Smile What a great player, and an ever better man. One of the brigtest spots on the NFL, will be a shame when he retires.

As to Vick, I definitly, DEFINITLY thin he's been overpayed. And 10 yeras??? For the way Vick plays, I wouldn't have given him more than 5 yeras. 1 injury to his speed and he's half the player he is now.

But the problem with vick is if the falcons didn't pay him that, someone else would have, so they were kind of stuck and HAD to pay him huge like that.

Unless injuries take him out early, he is worth every penny of that deal. Whether he's as good as other QBs stat-wise or not, the record is what counts. Besides that, he brings intensity and excitement to the fans like nothing I've ever seen before. Heck, I even want to see him run all over my beloved Saints tomorrow.

Granted, I want the Saints to win, but still...

Well true, the only thing that matters is when the guy plays, the falcons win, but I just think he's so injury prone... A 10 year deal seems much longer to me than Vick is capable of. I see him dropping off in 5-6 years. Obviously I culd be wrong, but not many football players are able to keep there level of play that high.

I'm planning on updating the thread tonight after the 4:00 games are over. I'll update the first page and add a new update here at the end since we're on page 2 now.

Depending on how complicated the playoff scenarios are for the NFC, I might post the playoff possibilities for all the teams still alive.

Oh, and what the hell happened to Jacksonville today?

I was there Advance, and.... who knows Give Up

There was no offensive production. Fred Taylor, AFC player of the week last week, was out. Byron was shaken up early, did not recover enough to play well. It was payback, as the Jags shut them out in December at Alltel last year.

The Bears really got screwed with that TD coming back. How the hell could the ref say it wasn't a TD?

AFC - A 10-6 team could miss the playoffs
NFC - A 8-8 team could make the playoffs

Just pathetic.

I really hope Seattle loses next week, I'd just love for there to be a 8-8 division champ

At this point in the bears season, does it really, REALLY matter??? Smile I know a W would have felt good, but maybe this'll get them a higher draft pick.

If the Jaguars beat the Raiders, they can make the playoffs if the Colts beat the Broncos and the Steelers beat the Bills. It's still a small chance (as Indy and Pitt have locked their divisions and will rest starters), and at this point, though I'd love to see my team in the playoffs, I don't think they deserve it after last week's letdown.

Everything has essentially been determined for the playoffs.

Tonight's game between the Cowboys and the Giants is moot aside from helping determine who gets the better draft pick.

If the Broncos can't win against the Colts secondary lineup they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

Oh and how about them Bengals? Not only did they beat the Eagles, they crushed them.

I think it's becoming quite clear that the Eagles probably are going to be eliminated from the playoffs very quickly.

Even if it was their second string, we're talking about the Bengals.

Pittsburgh's second string crushed the Bills, whom everyone on ESPN, FOX, and CBS was saying that no one should want to play because they're "that" good. Ha. It's particularly funny because they said the same thing about Carolina. Ha ha.

Suck it, Buffalo. And suck it, Carolina. You both suck.

Yeah I can't believe they were really expecting something from the Bills because they had won their past few games and were "turning up the heat".

I don't think it's a question of that they suck, but the fact they just aren't consistent. Look at both of them, started out the season horrible, then picked it up. So I'd say that makes them both mediocre teams, at least.

WOOOOOOOOOOOO GO JETS!!! Granted we lost today, but I doubt they would've went for a 52 yard field goal if they weren't already in.

But god, our secondary is terrible. We match up extremly well against san diego though, so beating them is very possible. After that though I can't see them beating new england or pittsburgh.

And **** bufallo. All you hear about in hamilton (45 minute drive to bufallo) is the ****ing bills. How good they are, how Willis is the best back in the league, how good the defense is, lol. I love how they got owned by second string players, when they had SOOO much on the line.

Even if it was their second string, we're talking about the Bengals.

Their defense woke up late in the season, and Carson Palmer (though injured recently) was finally becoming an NFL quarterback. Watch out for a true up-start team in the Bengals.

And Buffalo finished the season with the 2nd overall defense in the league, and the most turnovers with 39. They are 7th against the run and 3rd against the pass. Not bad...

It would've been nice for the Jags to make a playoff appearance, but I'm kind of glad that it's over.

It's kind of hard to tell when they've played Donovan McNabb for a total of about ten minutes in the last two games. McNabb is the Eagles. He has been ever since 2002, when he got them to their first NFC title game in quite a while. Losing Owens will hurt them, but they've gotten within an inch of the Super BOwl the last three seasons without T.O, and their defense is playing better than it has in years. The fact that they're in the NFC is basically saving them, though. The Super Bowl betting sheet is going to be hilarious. I can't see any NFC team having a chance against any AFC division winner, except maybe Philadelphia vs. San Diego.

EDIT: Incidentally, I'm now starting a Braylon Edwards to the Chicago Bears campaign.

They knocked the Redskins out of second in Week 17? Losing to the Steelers by over 10 points when the Redskins soundly beat the Vikings? Really?

Either way, the Redskins are right behind them, and the Redskins were 6-10. Defense is only half of the game.

The 'overall defense' rankings are pretty much total yards per game given up.
