GMR Reviews Paper Mario 2
Just got my issue today. They really liked it and said it was on par with Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.

I think this was posted in the Official Paper Mario thread. It's good news nonetheless.

Great news this game comes out next month here in Australia and I already got the money down on it. Can't wait. If it's any thing like mario and luigi great then this could be game of the year for me.

Meh, I'm not at all interested in it. Mario and Luigi was good, but not mind-blowing. I'm used to RPGs that have an interesting story...err, make that a good story. RPGs - story = boring. I honestly didn't find the gameplay to be that engaging either.

...but I'll still get it, just not now. Yeah I know, I just totally trashed the game. Whatever, sue me.

I see where you are coming from Pojo, Superstar Saga didn't have much of a story for being a rpg, neither did the first Paper Mario. Then again though, when has a mario game ever had much of a story, rpg or not?

What're you talking about. The first one was pretty plot heavy, assuming you weren't looking for some story about a young spikey haired boy trying to save the world and/or the love of his life.

I played PM for the N64 for about five minutes. I doubt it was really that interesting, since Mario and Luigi had a lame story. It didn't seem as deep as any FF or Tales story (at least, ToS).

Don't be a douche. If you don't like RPG's you don't have to spell it out by being one.

Of course it wasn't as deep, it's friggin Mario, but it was still good enough to see through to the end and enjoy. I thought Mario and Luigi's story was great, not because it was deep (because it wasn't), but because it was fun. I mean, who didn't enjoy seeing/laugh at Luigi dressing up as Peach and infiltrating Cackletta's ship? It was great! Cool

What made the story of Mario and Luigi good, was that it show-cased alot of Mario humour that was never seen in any regular Mario games. That is the good thing about the mario-rpgs. Compared to platformer Mario games, these have stories and lead somewhere besides to the next level.
