they are 2 Gundam Seed 5 minute episodes. they don't have any of the characters from the normal series, but good god, i loved them.

RED FRAME

In space, the Junk Guild ship HOME prepares to descend to Earth. Lowe Guele is excited about visiting Earth, and Kisato Yamabuki hopes to buy lots of items. Liam Garfield says he doesn't like Earth's gravitational pull, and the hung over Professor complains that going to Earth is bad for the body. One Earth, a secret auction is held for surplus ZAFT mobile suits. One of the items on display is the Aegis Gundam's shield. Lowe is especially impressed by the next item: the head from a BuCUE Tactical Reconnaissance Type. He is surprised that ZAFT has beam weaponry and wants to buy it, but Kisato tells him the Red Frame already has beam weapons. Lowe explains that he wants to buy it because it's from ZAFT and might be different. After the auction, Lowe connects the BuCUE head to the Red Frame's right hand activates the double-edged beam saber. He then jumps into his cockpit and decrypts some classified surveillance data on the Earth Alliance mobile suit Sword Calamity. Liam doesn't think they should get involved, and the Professor wants to copy the data before deleting the original file. Suddenly, a CGUE on a Guul appears and attacks. Lowe uses the BuCUE head as a makeshift staff and slices the CGUE apart without killing the pilot. Three more CGUEs appear, and Lowe takes off to lead them away. Ahead of him, a CGUE DEEP Arms attacks him with its beam rifles. Lowe flies through the auction field while trying to dodge the CGUE DEEP Arms. He leads it into an old city and ejects two parts from his flight pack, but the CGUE DEEP Arms continues its pursuit. Lowe then has the flight pack fly by itself to distract the CGUE DEEP Arms while he slices its Guul apart with his Gerbera Straight. He then flies away and realizes he forgot to pick up the expensive BuCUE head.

While this OVA is in essence a 6 minute commercial, it's very well made and entertaining nonetheless. I've always been interested in the Astray stories and characters, and it's nice to see them finally animated. One of the things that appeals to me about Astray is that it doesn't take itself as seriously as its big brother series, and it's all the more enjoyable for it. This short features a nice battle sequence, along with some fanservice of the exposed Professor. Of course, a lot of the showcased mecha are from SEED-MSV, which these promos are supposed to advertise. It's really a shame that there's only two OVA clips for Astray, because it certainly deserves to be a full length OVA series.

BLUE FRAME

In space, Earth Alliance ace pilot destroys several GuAIZs with his Sword Calamity. After fighting off the GuAIZs, he uses his anti-ship swords to slice the bridge off a Nazca class ship. He feels something in his nerves and wonders what it is. Nearby, a GINN High Maneuver Type destroys an Alliance ship and is shot at from above. It turns and spots the Gundam Astray Blue Frame Second L, piloted by Serpent Tail mercenary Gai Murakumo. The GINN HM Type gives chase, and Gai leads it into an abandoned space colony. On a nearby Laurasia class ship, Serpent Tail member Kazahana Adja monitors the GINN HM Type. Reed Weller signals pilot Elijah Kiel that the target is moving towards the colony. Elijah then gets into position in his custom GINN. In a narrow corridor, Gai and Loretta Adja set a trap for the GINN HM Type involving explosive wires. The GINN HM Type walks through the corridor and stops when it sees the wire. It uses the bayonet tip of its rifle to trip the wire and set off the explosives from a distance. It then flies into a nearby corridor and chases after Gai. Gai dodges the GINN HM Type's attacks and fires back with his Gatling gun. The GINN HM Type then crashes into a net and is surrounded by Gai and Elijah. It attempts to break free of the net, so Gai detaches the Tactical Arms backpack to use the Gatling gun and destroy the GINN HM Type's right arm. Gai says to himself that fighting is impossible for reckless pilots. Afterwards, Gai and Elijah leave the colony and join up with the Serpent Tail ship. Reed is glad they were able to use a new surprise attack, and Elijah picks up something on his sensors. Waiting ahead of the ship and blocking its path is Edward. Gai tells Elijah to stay with the ship and says he will fight Edward only until the ship is clear. He then detaches the Tactical Arms and transforms it into a sword. Edward pulls out both of his swords, and the two rush towards each other and attack. Their swords clash against each other, and Edward wonders to himself who will win.

Well, there's another short but interesting Astray OAV promo. Aside from manga characters such as the Serpent Tail crew, we also see SEED-MSV ace pilot Edward Harrelson in action with his Sword Calamity. He has a bloody effectiveness with his two swords and seems far more deadly than Orga Sabnak's Calamity Gundam. In fact, he's probably the only SEED character who actually uses an anti-ship sword on a ship. In the manga, Gai comes across as a great pilot and tactician, and that carries through here in his capture of the GINN HM Type. It's too bad this is only a promotional clip that ends on a cliffhanger, because I really would have liked to see the fight between Gai and Edward.
