Wow produces manbabies and is therefore lame...well it doesn't produce them...it just induces the symptoms. Which is still reason enough to ban it. ___________________ Investors Business Daily on Obama "death panel":

The WoW site has a thread about it...apparently he's the guild (or whatever nerdy construct WoW has), leader or something. We don't know his age though. People will find out eventually, give em' a few days. ___________________ Investors Business Daily on Obama "death panel":

You realize that you're calling something that tons of people who wouldn't really call themselves gamers as something that's "geeky and nerdy" beyond exsistance, and completely inpenetrable by normal gamers? I'm also sure it's not geeky and nerdy to still be caught up on things like the Dreamcast and Tecmo Bowl, right? Oh wait... You realize that you are following the story of one retarded person on WoW almost religiously, checking the forums of a video game you hate yet never played, and choose to go out of your way in some vein attempt to share what's not really funny due to legendarily awful sound quality. Okay, yeah, people that play WoW are way nerdier than you. ___________________

Wow is the hardest MMO I have ever tried to play. There are way to many freaking buttons, and hotkeys you need to set up if you actually want to do something interesting. I also can't stand having to pick one job, and pretty much having to keep that job the entire time (Ex. choosing a warrior, then never being able to be a mage). The only way to change is to make a completely new character. I'm not saying WoW should be banned, I just think it's overrated. |

I love how Imp apparently thinks everyone besides himself is retarded. Imp, some people just don't like games in wich upon immediate entery, I don't know EXACTLY what you're talking about. The game probably isn't worth my time. I shouldn't have to spend time learning how to play the game. The only thing I tolerate this for is a normal RPG because the world is inherently a fantasy world. An MMO game shouldn't HAVE to be so complicated. Let's take a look at WoW shall we? ![]() Woopie! Buttons up the wazzo! There's a great way to ease a player into the game! (and this about the screen with the least buttons on the screen I could find). Now, you expect me to spend hours figuring out that system and hours getting into a guild or whatever the hell you call it when I could be playing games ten times more interesting? ___________________ Investors Business Daily on Obama "death panel":

Buttons up the wazzo? You're completely retarded. It takes about 10 seconds to figure out how the game works. If you think WoW is complicated then you shouldn't go near any of the other MMO's out there right now. WoW is hands done one of the simplest games to get into, for any genre. WoW basically spoon feeds you everything you need to know about the game in the first few hours. There isn't one single aspect of the starting area that is complicated. Every quest is handed to you and explains exactly what you need to do and where you need to go. The abilities are explained in great detail, and are very very simple. The game never truly gets complicated. Imp is 100% correct in the fact that if you think that ss of WoW you posted looks complicated at all then you would be better suited for Toon Town. And anyone who is a Dreamcast fan is just as nerdy as a ++++ing wow fan. Pot calling the kettle black sir. |

If I can't look at the screen instantly and tell what's going on in any game besides an RTS, the game is too complicated. That's my rule as far as game design goes. People need to learn how to make MMO's look something like a normal, unsophisticated game. Having so much clutter on screen is a barrier to entry. Not sayin' WoW isn't a good game. I'm just sayin' it's too complicated and is therefore nerdy! And I don't actually own a Dreamcast, I just like the logo ___________________ Investors Business Daily on Obama "death panel":

Runescape allows you do do anything you want, without losing levels in anything. There's also not so much armor that it becomes hard to do, especially with as much bank space as you get with a member account. If I want to be a warrior for one fight, then switch to mage for another, then switch to ranger for another, it's completely fine. I can also have enough inventory to carry the needed weapons, and armors to do it. I also don't have a bunch of buttons that I have to learn, and keep up with Talent points, and all the other stuff WoW wants you to do. |

Even with a level 70 Priest I use only a handful of spells for any given situation. It isn't "a bunch of buttons you have to learn". It's very very simple. There are plenty of other popular games on the market right now that are far more complicated than wow could ever dream of being. You do have to be able to read though and I'm sure that is the deal breaker for some of you. |

WoW is a good (addictive) game. I've only played a handful of the 10-day trials but when I was playing I would play all night long. It can become a problem. The parents just need to set firm ground rules as to when and for how long their child can play. Then tell him they will go into effect the next day. I'm sure the parents would be happy knowing that the situation would not happen again and the kid would be so vested in his current play that he would agree to much more than he would if he wasn't in the middle of something. ___________________ ![]() ![]() Pokemon Pearl friend code: 3265-1563-2398 |
