Classic NES Volume 2 Announced
http://gameboy.ign.com/articles/537/537917p1.html?fromint=1

August 11, 2004 - Nintendo has revealed that it will be continuing the Classic NES Series in the US with a second batch of games this October 25th.

In Volume 2 of the series, players will be able to snag perfect NES versions of Dr. Mario, Metroid, The Legend of Zelda II: Adventures of Link, and Castlevania.
Like their predecessors, these games will be $19.99 apiece and feature boxart from the classic versions of the NES release. Dr. Mario, the only two player game in the batch, will feature wireless and wired link play that will only require one copy of the game for two systems.

We'll have more on these games when Nintendo updates us with details.

====================

I will be getting Castlevania.

2. Original Unlockable in Zero Mission
3. Original Unlockable in Metroid Prime

I dunno, try finding a list of the games from Japan's second volume. Chances are its heavy on titles that were never released in America.

Who knew that God awful localization decisions Nintendo made when we were children would continue to chafe our ass in 2004?

WTF. WHERE IS KID ICARUS.

We'd BETTER freaking get it.

With that said, I'll be getting all of them, most likely. Looking forward to Castlevania the most, though. Hope any of you Castlevania newbs don't think the old school ones are like the new-school Metroid ones.

Really? Was Kid Icarus in the second set as well? Perhaps IGN is wrong or Nintendo is saving some titles for later. I don't know, point is Nintendo still stinks at bringing over the titles that interest us.

Zelda II was awesome. I think people complained about it being different. I don't really remember people saying it was horrible because it didn't follow the same style the others followed.

Though it isn't worth buying when I can play it on my cube.

its only worth buying if you wanna take it on the go. its also the hardest zelda game of them all and the only one I havent beat yet. I love the side scrolling part of it which takes up 94% of the game.

the dungeon music is the best(even better then part 1's music)

Dr. Mario I have no interest on, and if I did, I have Dr. Wario on Wario Ware. Zelda 2 I have on Zelda Collector's Edition. Metroid I have on Metroid Prime unlockable, and on Zero Mission. However I AM getting Castlevania.

Most of OUR Series 2 is from the *third* Famicom Mini line (the line based on the Famicom Disk System releases). So we're missing out of practically all of the second series at this point, and missing the one from the third series I wanted more than freaking oxygen.

*sigh*

They better do some more releases over here after this four-game set. I need my ****ing Kid Icarus.

Bah, screw it. The only game that I'm even considering purchasing is Mario. $20 is just too much for these common NES games.

...why don't they port over Blaster Master? Something unique that not many people got a chance to play? Frown

I'm going to quote this from Vince's News post:

I don't know about anyone else, but I had hoped the Classic NES Series would have brought back gems that we thought were lost forever. Hardcore fans still talk about Kid Icarus, though it hasn't been seen the Game Boy installment over a decade ago. The Metal Gear franchise is one of the most popular series of our day, and yet gamers who jumped on the bandwagon with the PSX title can't even see where it all began. That is what the Classic NES Series is supposed to be about, and I sadly think that it's been botched from the beginning.

VINCE VINCE!!! The first actull metal gear game came from the MSX not the NES. Infact the NES version suposively inforer to the MSX game that only came out in Japan and little known areas in europe. The true Metal Gear 2 did'nt even get here.

True, True. Those would be more interesting to see released. As from what I've heard The true Metal Gear 2: Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake was a classic no one in the west heard of... Would be interesting to see in the west.

What bugs me is that these game are'nt "collectable" like the famicon minis are.
