Fire!! Just a moment ago *few hours agos* their was a fire in my apartment building. The fire wasn't started in my apartment but below us. Their were two children in apartment the fire started in, ages 10 (male) and 4 (female). Their parent wasn't home when the fire started, she had left them home alone like 10 minutes the fire took placed! Some other girl who lived in the apartments called 911 and then tried to rescue the children, the kids were knocked out due to the smoke. She then came to my house and warned me about the fire. I quickly left the house after grabbing my DSLite. Anyways when the fire fighters got there and they broken the the door where the children were, both survived. By that time the fire rose (sp?) above to my mother's room window! My mother wasn't home at time. The fire damaged her room but not too badly. There's a hole in the ceiling in her room though, the fire figher boarded it up though, till repairs are made. My room wasn't damaged at all. The only reason my mom room was damage was because the fire started in the room exactly below hers. The kids are in the hospital, and the mother whereabouts is still unknown. She's wanted though. I'm just glad the kids and my stuff are safe. I'm still kinda pissed though

That happens, My question is this. Was it a issue of the kids playing with fire or is it something darker. On the bright side the kids survived, their mother needs a good ass kickin but the kids are alive. ___________________  RPG-n. To my knewledge, the children were sleep when a lamp fall and started the fire. The kids was a different room. |

so it's Accidental then. I find it strange that the mother hasnot yet returned, generally when somthing like this happens the adult comes home, to find the residence on fire. I just find it suspicious is all. On a further note I babysit for a living, I need to be present and awake even when the children are sleeping so them being left alone bothers me in the first place ___________________ RPG-n. Ridiculous. I'm sorry, but there is really no reason to leave children of that age alone, especially at night. A 10 year old can barely be responsible for himself, let alone his 4 year old sister. The mother better have been kidnapped at gunpoint or by aliens or something, because otherwise it is unexcusable. Hell, I don't even leave my children alone to pay for gas. If I can't pay at the pump, I drag them inside with me. |

Jesus christ, people really are that dumb. The mother is more then likely freaking out that she will go to jail or something. You should never leave your kids at home unsupervised especially of that age. I hate when **** like this happens, i really hope the kids pull through. I hear about this stuff all the time since my dad is a firefighter. ___________________

haha, after you grabbed your DS lite of course :-). But goddamn, that really sucks for the two kids. How do they know for sure that they themselves started teh fire, and the mother didn't set it up? Well i 've grown up quite alone since both parents were at work. But there are public Kindengardens in Greece so, at least, i had proper attention and I also became very social with the other kids. are there any of those in America? note: i hate babysitting. the kids are really driving me nuts but i still love them. (i can't even shout on them  )

Update #2: The 4 year old is going be fine. She's in stable condition. The 10 year old is in critical condition. They have spoken to the auntie of the children, the parent still unreachable though. Yesterday; the fire made breaking news on channel 4 & 7. |

still unreachable? Yikes D: I'd like to hear what the Fire marshall's report describes the start of the fire. While it does happen from time to time, I can't see a lamp just catching fire on its own. |

  ^ That white/gray thingy is covering up a hole from the roof. Once my batteries recharge I'm going to go inside the apartment where the fire took place and take some pictures. The whole apartment is totally f**ked over. |
