I'll be there Friday morning to put in my reservation, but I won't be relying on it. If EB screws me over I'll just buy the system at Walmart or Best Buy, and use my pre-order money towards a Wii game. But I'm gonna keep my options open. |

Nintendo is shipping so many that unless GS/EB only get 10 systems you'll get your preorder day 1. I'll do a preorder tomorrow and if I'm not on Day 1 I'll wait out of Best Buy. No biggie. |

I'll be heading to EB Games tomorrow morning before they open up so that I can be sure to get my pre-order in. I plan on paying it off in full since I have so much store credit. They'd sure best not muff my order because I don't really have the option of going somewhere else--I brought in heaps of games to build that $300+ credit and I have to use it there. ...but I think things should turn out alright. At least, they'd better. ___________________

The guy I talked with on the phone yesterday from EB Games told me that they opened up at 10 AM--WHOOPS turns out it was 9 AM. I got there around 9:20 but it was too late to get one pre-ordered. I guess I'll have to wait until EB Games has their second reservation period or do it online. More to the point, this is probably the third or fourth time this particular employee at EB Games has double-crossed me. It's starting to look more and more like war. ___________________

Yes they're going to sell out at launch. My Gamestop got about 15 for launch day, with about 7 or 8 taken up by staff. I wouldn't be worried about 360/PS2-esque shortages, though; Nintendo has been producing these things beyond their own estimates and there should be millions available by Christmas. Also, unlike 360, stores haven't been reserving hundreds of consoles, so after the initial launch day reserves, nobody has any more claim to the shipments that arrive than you do. With 360 (at my store at least) nothing went on sale to the public until around April, after everyone who'd reserved got theirs. So don't worry, just try to find out when a store is getting more in and be there first on that day. |

Just got back from EB. I got there at 6:45 AM, and was number 5 in line. Got my pre-order in! They only allocated 14 systems to the store, and all the spots were taken up by 8 AM. Lots of dissapointed people showed up at around 9:30 thinking they'd get one.  I put $100 down on the Wii, $5 on Zelda, and $5 on Red Steel.

I went there after work and there were people that camped out since 9 PM the previous night. WTF. But there were two gay guys and a set of female identical twins amass the nerdom. That was a bigger WTF. Then I riled up the crowd of 18 people in attempts to see if any of them would let me butt. They didn't But yeah, I wasn't worried about the Wii. Is it really sad that I had a dream last night where I went to Zellers with my gf and I went to the electronics section (i don't know where she went) and convinced the guys there to let me see their "emplyoree catalog" that has all of their upcoming products and prices so that I can see when Wii was coming, how much it would cost ($279.97 btw, which is consistent with Zellers pricing) as well as peripherals (there were some sweet and cheap looking 3rd party VC controllers starting at $24.97)? And then I wouldn't let my gf see because it was a secret? |

This is ridiculous. Each store is getting more than 10-20 units. They are doing this preorder sellout scam just to increase hype, cause panic or whatnot so they can sell bundles online. What a load of crap! BTW they used the same exact wording in their PS3 email as they did in the Wii one. PS3 will ship 400,000 and the Wii will ship something absurd like 2 million. I was "officially" hired yesterday over at EBGames. I got in line at 4 a.m. this morning until 10 a.m. I was the second one in line. Luckily I still got the discount on my Wii games even though I just got hired. Makes sense though since it still won't come out for a little over a month from now.
