Agreed. But one of the things I love about Tales more than skies is how you can see enemies and avoid them yet still want to fight them enough that you are still in a lot of fights. Random battles piss me off sometimes, especially if there are tons of them like in Skies.

I know a lot of people who love rpgs for their stories; many of those people probably won't be statisfied with ToS. Others probably don't like the battle system, as they may find it too easy. It's not hard to believe that he just doesn't think it's a great game.

Sounds like you're pretty much calling it an amazing game to me, judging by that response.

I don't think it's lame by itself, but when you compare it to FF or any other RPG with a great story, it's merely average.

Oh, and do I have to mention that Star Ocean is coming soon? My guess is that he's saving his money for that one.

I know in Japan, ToS for the PS2 will come with Tales of Phantasia. Are there any plans for more sidequests? I'd kill someone if the PS2 version gets more cut-scenes...especially really cool looking ones.

...I hate to tell you this, but it has been confirmed that the PS2 version will have added cutscenes.

I know, but for the hardcore RPG fan, it's a must buy. That's pretty much my genre, so I get even the mediocre RPGs (I'm not saying that ToS is mediocre, it's above that).
