Japanese sales 19-25 Dec 2005 Everything (especially KH2) is huuuge:1. Kingdom Hearts II 727.591 727.591 2. Animal Crossing: Wild World 416.132 1.177.108 3. Mario Kart DS 302.742 667.799 4. Naruto: Narutimate Hero 3 216.966 216.966 5. Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon: Blue Rescue Force 157.786 511.704 6. Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon: Red Rescue Force 156.430 512.054 7. Tamagotchi no PuchiPuchi Omisecchi 156.181 721.104 8. Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence 103.894 103.894 9. Mario Party 7 100.130 319.650 10. Kahashima Ryuuta Kyouju no Nou o Kitaeru Otona DS Training 93.240 1.004.681 --- 11. Gentle Brain Training 12. Dragonball Z 13. Rockman EXE 6 14. Slime Mori Mori 2 15. Tales of the Abyss 16. Naruto 4 GC 17. Daredemo Asobi Taisen 18. Mushi King DS 19. Rockman EXE 6 20. Monster Hunter Portable 21. Pokemon Torouze 22. Katamari PSP 23. ? 24. Nintendogs 25. Ryu Ga Gotoku 26. Nintendogs 27. Nintendogs 28. Final Fantasy IV 29. Ratchet & Clank 30. Rogue Galaxy Both Animal Crossing´s and Mario Kart´s numbers are over 200% higher than last week which is insanity. And KH2 is a monster. If you compare this list to last year´s, number 1 game from 2004 (Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy in Itadaki Street Special) would only be number 5 in this list with little over 200k sales. oh and btw, Brain Training for Adults and AC:WW both passed 1 million mark! Tamagotchi also sells strangely well... for some reason. There is 14 DS games in top 30 so hardware sales should be massive (if there is no shortages). |

I'm truely suprised by Nintendogs, the fact that all three are in the top 30 is rather ridiculous. |

I wonder if Nintendogs have also sold a million too? Combined obviously. http://www.gamefront.de/ is reporting that the DS sold 604,000 in the week 19-25 which sounds very plausible the way things have been going! |

It needs to be merged with the Japanese sales thread since it has been around longer and covers this topic. |

Could anyone quickly compare the sales of a Japanese top-ten software sales number to the top ten in the United States? I rarely pay attention to US-based numbers, but it might be interesting to compare how many units are sold in each country per week and how they compare to each other. It seems the #1 spot in Japan seems to sell an average of 350,000 units per week. Does the US usually match that? ___________________ ![]() I was young and confused and your mom didn't want me around no more. Now pass me dem damn collard greens! |

I dont think any system ever match such numbers the DS is pulling. Not even the PS2 did huh? I can hardly believe the DS is actually selling this well with the PSP out. ___________________ I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Well my dear Xavius in the US no company(that I know of) keeps track of weekly sales like in Japan so it's hard to compare averages. We only have monthly sales to go by. =/ ___________________ I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. I posted Nov NPD # as well as LTDs for Gamecube and NDS Nintendo published games (and select 3rd party NDS games). It seems I forgot to do GBA. I will do that later tonight when I get home from work. |

What I really hope this amazing sales bring, is much more 3rd party support, since lets face it, the DS success has been purely down to Nintendo - no one else's games have gone anywhere near to matching their game sales or driving console sales, the nearest would Tamagotchi. Now developers have had over a year to get used to the console and it's obvious it isn't some novelty that will die out... I hope that they'll concentrate on bringing innovative and fulfilling games of their own, rather than minigamesque creations or token useage of the features. |

Hardware (official Media Create numbers): DS 597.000 PSP 161.000 PS2 97.000 GC 36.000 SP 35.000 GBM 19.000 360 5000 DS sales are just insane but I must admit that PSP sales are actually pretty good too. PSP is like GC while DS is PS2. Oh and even Cube sold 7x more than X360! |

Either M-Create doesn't track XBOX #s anymore or they are combined with the X$150's #s. Either way, its not good news for Microsoft in Japan land. |

DS sells 120x more than the 360 (assuming the number doesn't include any original xbox numbers). Pretty impressive. ___________________ ![]() I was young and confused and your mom didn't want me around no more. Now pass me dem damn collard greens! |

Yo, I am in Tokyo right now. Let me first say Shinjuku ROCKED on New Years Eve. Second Nintendo DS is possibly the biggest fad in Japan right now. I have pictures at my blog of some of the advertisements. Every train station has "Touch Generations" and "Mario and Luigi" adds all over the place. On the trains there are video screens demonstrating Brain Training. I have seen around 30 people playing DS,only 1 PSP. The White PSP does look slick though. Graphite Gray DS is sold out everywhere. Doh! I was going to lose mine on purpose so i would "have too" buy one. I don't plan on heading to Akihabara again, because it sucked. Osaka's Den-Den distrcit made it look so lame. I'll say it once,Akihabara is a tourist trap. There is cool stuff but you can find it many other places. ___________________ My arm hurts |
