I don't see how people can get so hyped for a Mario Kart title. I realize yes, we finally have an online Mario Kart, but still at the bottom of it all it's still a fairly shallow racer.

Believe me, there are actual shallow racing games and they either suck horribly, lack focus, or are just a complete waste of time.

I admit, a 30 player online F-Zero game would utterly destroy everything else.

With fun gameplay and a broad range of people to play against, the game's worth is crazily increased. Plus, DS ONLINE OMG and NINTENDO ONLINE OMG helps.

Since this is the "official" thread I'll put the best adhoc guide I found here: (how to set up a makeshift network with only a wifi adapter, no router)

Additionally, Mr. Konno said the battle mode will probably be enabled for online play, as with the racing gameplay.

What is wrong with you? There's nothing shallow about Mario Kart. You're about to witness levels of strategy in Mario Kart that obviously you've never seen before - assuming you're going to be online with some of us that is.

I liek the squid guy as a weapon, looks super cool. Cant wait to muck up my ennemies screen. I just really hope this game is more like MK64 then MK: DD!, and what I mean by that is that if your winning, you usually win, that it dosent give a huge advantage to the last place guy, more just an advantage.

...that is, to casual gamers. I don't care how lucky you get with the items, in the end, a bad Mario Kart player will NEVER win. Of course it takes skill.

But didn't you say that you can't (as in, you're too sucky to time it correctly) even powerslide in Mario Kart: DD? That would explain your comment right there. That's like not knowing how to roll in Smash Brothers. Big Grin

True points all-around. Mario Kart DOES take skill to play. You have to know when to use your items and when not to, make assumptions on what your opponent is going to do and react on them if they happen. Powerslide in and around opponents and obstacles and then speed-burst out of it(and use an item for that extra flair), etc, etc, etc.....

Seriously, playing this online just to see how everyone else is going to play is going to be awesome! I hope to play many a match with you guys. Smile

Nah, Green Shells are fine since noobs don't know how to use them. The problem with the Red Shells is that they almost always hit you unless you have teh skillz.
