Gundam Seed Destiny
I know i may be repeating myself, but here goes fellows!

Bandai Japan has issued an official press release regarding Gundam SEED Destiny.

The press release sets out the Bandai Group's plans for Gundam SEED Destiny, however it does not discuss the anime itself. While Bandai Visual will distribute the DVDs and VHS (animation produced by Sunrise), other divisions will create plastic model kits, games, action figures, candies, cards, clothing accessories, stationary, cellphone software and more.

The Press release then goes on to list various achievements of Gundam SEED and Gundam in general.

To date, there have been over 10 million plastic Gundam SEED models sold worldwide (primarily in Japan), and in the first 3 months of 2004, the Bandai Group's total Gundam-related sales (international) amounted to 54.2 Billion yen (US$499 million).

The official Gundam SEED Destiny website will be located at gundam-seed-d.net, however the domain currently forwards to Sunrise's main website.

RUMORS

- All 3 factions now have gundams.

- The new main character seems to be a rather cold personality.

- Kira Yamato is gone.

- Gundams batterys can now be recharged from range.

- ZAFT seems to be "good" this time around.

here are some pics of Destiny

Some other Info I found on Gundam Seed Destiny

After nearly a year of rumors and speculation, Bandai finally announced the TV series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny in July 2004. This new series is set two years after the end of the first SEED series. Not many details have been released, but here is what is known so far:

-The protagonist is Shin Asuka, a 16-year-old Coordinator from Orb who joins ZAFT. He pilots the ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam.

-Athrun Zala and Cagalli Yula Attha will be returning, and it is likely more of the surviving members from the first series will be returning.

-The series is set to being airing in October 2004, taking over the time slot of Fullmetal Alchemist. Incidentally, Fullmetal Alchemist's time slot formerly belonged to the first SEED series.

-Director Mitsuo Fukuda is returning, along with his wife and head writer Chiaki Morosawa.

-Character designs are again by Hisashi Hirai. Kunio Okawara and Kimitoshi Yamane are returning on the mecha design front and are joined by Advance of Zeta designer Kenki Fujioka.

The following bits are from a post made on Gunota Headlines

C.E. 73. 2 years have gone by since the war ended. Gilbert Durandal leads ZAFT after the death of Patrick Zala. An Orb-born Coordinator, Shin Asuka, becomes the newest topgun of ZAFT after Athrun's departure. His eyes reflects sorrow perhaps because he is lonely and lost his family. He himself represents the "War's Tragedy". Why did he join ZAFT and participate in the battlefield? Revenge? A mission? No one knows. Meanwhile, Athrun is part of Orb and right beside Cagalli. He worries both about the heavy burden of protecting Cagalli and the feeling to do something about the world.

One who joined ZAFT and one who left. The story begins when the two cross.

and here is about the character and who back from seed: Athrun Zala

Shin Asuka - Protagonist. A Coordinator born in Orb. After losing his parents and younger sister during the Orb invasion of C.E. 71, he moved to PLANT and enlisted in ZAFT. Durandal finds him and he becomes a pilot of the Impulse Gundam. Very talented 16-year-old pilot. Wears the red uniform meaning he belonged in the top class of his military cadet school.

Lunamaria Hawk - A crew member of the battleship Minerva, which becomes the mothership of the Impulse. Wears the red uniform, elite pilot uniform identical to Shin's.

Athrun Zala - Now 18-years-old. Retired from ZAFT and defected to Orb. Doesn't use his real name, going by a pseudonym instead and serves as Cagalli's personal bodyguard. He was able to make acquaintance with Shin and others when he attended the secret conference between Cagalli and Durandal at PLANT.

Gilbert Durandal - After signing the Treaty of Junius (the Armistice Treaty) as the successor of the Temporary Council, he becomes the Supreme Chairman of the Council. He pushes forward with Clyne's political ideals and is deeply trusted by the common people. Currently seeking reconciliation with the Naturals.

ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam - ZAFT's newest Gundam. Relies on batteries instead of nuclear power. Since its energy can be replenished from a long distance by its mothership, the PS (Phase Shift) armor can operate a lot longer. The cockpit area can transformed into a fighter called the Core Splender. The Impulse can be broken up into 3 separate units. Like the Strike Gundam, the Impulse can be further equipped with 3 different packs (or mode). It is called the Force Impulse Gundam (ZGMF-X56S/?) when it's in the aile-mode.

new uncomfirmed details about the Gundams

"There's a number of rumors about SEED Destiny at the moment but the big one that just popped up in Japan is details about other Gundams. It's not clear to me if these are all confirmed (though the Impulse variations have been mentioned elsewhere before now) so take the new ones with a grain of salt. From Pam's Homepage...

Blast Impulse Gundam - The Impulse's Silhouette equivalent to the Strike's Launcher equipment. Has shoulder-mounted missle pods (Not mentioned is the 3rd variation which has been brought up at a few places like Gundam Imperfect Web: The unsurprising Sword Impulse Gundam).

Saber Gundam (the kana could also be interpreted as "Saviour Gundam") - Transforms into a flight form mobile armor.

Chaos Gundam - Transforms into a mobile armor whose appearance can be likened to the Bigro.

Abyss Gundam - Transforms into a disc shape.

Gaia Gundam - Transforms into a 4-legged mobile armor. This is described as being similar to the "LaGOWE that appeared in Dendoh". Not quite sure what that means but someone on a 2ch thread pointed to this pic to try and shed some light on things."

I liked the Gundam SEED a lot, and I'm certainly excited about Destiny (the only thing is that it will probably be licensed rather quickly, so I'll probably have to get it through black sites). I can't see, though, how they could just drop Kira from the series; I think it's more likely that he'll play a smaller role. The Gundams are looking cool by the way, though I wonder how the mobile suits in general will improve.

no characters had big impacts in following series in Gundam. Look at Amuro Ray in Gundam Z. He appeared in it has a secondary character. I hope Kira reapears in it, but he won't be the hero.

And i'll be getting the bootlegs like i did with GS.

Kawaii

ya. I'm kinky

Sometimes the bootleg versions aren't of the best quality, but it depends where one gets them from.

I suppose you're right, but it would still be a little weird to not have Kira around, but we'll see.

Anyway, about Gundam SEED, I really liked it, but the final battle kind of seemed a little rushed to me. I mean, I've seen battles wage on in other series for quite a few episodes, but in SEED it finished up pretty quick. I suppose that's to be expected though since they were using nuclear weapons on each other.

Say Buu, do you know whether or not nuclear power will be used in Destiny? Or will it just be "banned" for combat use? The reason I'm asking is because, I think it would be kind of a let down if the factions spent all their time trying to nuke each other.

One more thing: Cartoon Network tore Gundam SEED apart. It hurts for me to watch it on that station.

Majinbuu, you need to talk to my friend sometime. He's seriously the biggest gundam freak I've ever met. I think you 2 would get along great.
