Van Damme making a return to Bloodsport 2!
courtesy of JeanClaudeVanDamme.net

UPDATE: Many of you emailed us to let us know that there already have been sequels to BLOODSPORT, entitled BLOODSPORT 2-4, but they aren't regarded as "actual sequels" to the original, which is what the Van Damme camp probably meant when they said that they would be looking to shoot a sequel. Not sure what it would be called, but the bottom line is: Van Damme and a bloody sport will meet again.

Don't lie, you've been waiting for this day for what seems like...forever!! According to our man 'Alex' and the latest official Jean-Claude Van Damme newsletter (no joke, there really is such a thing), the Muscles from Brussels is ready to follow-up one of his first, and biggest hits, BLOODSPORT, from way back in 1988, with a follow-up. That's right, BLOODSPORT 2, bitches...it's here!! Frank Dux is back!! (that's his character from the film) Normally at this point of the news article, I would start to make fun of all this, but there is a man on this site who goes by the name of John Fallon (aka the Muscles from Arrow in the Head), who really likes this actor and his films, so anything that I might say here, might also result in a hefty beating from my compadre, so I'm just gonna let that **** lie, and allow you, the readers, to .

Oh, and for anyone interested in Van Damme's latest cinematic conquests, he just finished shooting a film entitled SECOND IN COMMAND that is expected to be released in Spring of 2006, and is now taking some "time off to spend with his family", after which he will go directly into his next film, HARD CORPS (co-starring Wesley Snipes), which is expected to begin shooting around October and finish around Christmas. I would assume that the follow-up to BLOODSPORT would be next on his list after that. For anyone interested in reading more about the Damster, check out his OFFICIAL SITE, or go directly to his TRIVIA PAGE which includes such tidbits as "Van Damme's real name is Van Varenberg" and "When Van Damme first came to America, his only English words were: 'Hello', 'Thank You', and 'Can you drive me?". Fascinating

Bloodsport was a great film. I'm sure the sequel will blow, though.

"Why don't you quit round-eye!" lol Bloodsport is like one of my all time favs. I wouldn't mind another cheesy sequel.

Awesome. A little more interested in the movie he's doing with Snipes though.

Edit: Anybody else hoping they put that sasha guy from step by step in the bloodsport movie so van damme can kick his ass? lol

Bloodsport is one of my favourite guilty-pleasure films, I swear they need more flashbacks with young Dux and Tanaka.

Bloodsport is the only Van Damme film I ever liked. Then again, I barely remember any of his other films.

Caught a few snips of Wake of Death. Heard it was one of his better movies out of the past few.

OMFG, this owns! lol I watch Bloodsport at least 10 times a year, mostly because it's always on TV. Chong Li has to return! What's Bolo Yeung doing these days?

Chong Li! Chong Li! Chong Li! Chong Li! Chong Li! Chong Li!

i never liked van damme or blood sport. i put van damme in the same category as chuck norris and seigal (sp).

but the movie was horrible (sure, it's a classic that everyone has seen a couple of times, and it defined van damme's career) but i hated it..to me, the entire movie was just van damme flexing his muscles and striking different poses. the fight scenes were horrible. they'd just replay the same "move" over and over again...meh, not my type of fighting.

ya, like in the end fight...it was just so poorly done....the asian dude (Chong Li?) would go to kick van damme and van damme would be in the air before the kick happened, and they'd show that same movie 3 times. or that one finishing move after vandamme got the dust in his eyes, where he was on one leg hopping forward and kicking the asian dude repeatedly in the face with his right leg.... or other times with a punch to the face or something, it'd just go over and over again...i think this only happened in the tournament, not in the "fights" outside. the fights were just really, really, really, choreographed and constructed. i'm just saying its not my type of movie, and it's definitely not one of the best martial arts movies imo...i think its one of the worst actually....like i cant imagine going back and watching bloodsport on my own free will

but as you have said before, the fighting in those movies were choreographed and constructed, so are you not going after those?

if you can show me a movie that has fighting in it, where it isnt choreographed, please do, cause all of them are.

wow, you mean to tell me that the fighting and killing i see in movies isnt real! they're not really being punched and kicked and have never rehearsed in their lives?!

lol...im just saying that in bloodsport, the fight scenes were so rigid and lame and so obviously choreographed looking (not the flowyness of any jackie chan movie, or frank martin fight scene, among others)...in blood sport it was really stationary...not a lot of effort went into making the fight scenes interesting.

it's just my opinion of it...ur not gonna change it or "prove me wrong" lol.

Rumour is, he's retired. But some people say he was "The Beast" in Kung Fu Hustle, so who knows. Private guy. Guess we'll have to wait for his son[the one that acts] to hit it big.

My favorites were Hard Target, Lionheart, Double Impact, and his last good movie: Double Team.

I hope this sequel is good, then he would get more media attention. Crap

Same thing a lot of people said where that rumour was concerned. Then the people on the other side of the discussion were saying it's him using another name. Erm Personally, I don't see it being him because of the shoulders. Bolo was always that squat badass guy. Don't see him getting all soft like Arnold.
