Sigma Star Saga - Gamespot review http://www.gamespot.com/gba/rpg/sigmastarsaga/review.html7.2 Sigma Star Saga deserves a ton of credit for its outstanding concept, and at first, it seems to do an excellent job pulling its disparate elements together into just the sort of game that most any longtime video game player would love. It takes just a few hours to overstay its welcome, though, and the dramatic conclusion to the storyline does little to alleviate the many numbing hours it takes to get there. This is a game that was clearly inspired by any number of 16-bit classics, but Sigma Star Saga doesn't quite measure up to them. But for what it's worth, for a while it sure comes close. |

I think it loks cool, to be honest. I could use another GBA game. But, like Riviera, there is just too much I want before I can afford it. ___________________ Kung Fu treachery. |

courtesy of ign 7.0 Presentation The story's engaging and occasionally funny, enough to drive players to beat the game. But it's a rough ride ahead to get the whole tale. 8.0 Graphics Huge hand drawn sprites with fluid animation during RPG sequences, decent side-scrolling engine for the shooter parts. A bit of slowdown if it gets too intense, but nothing to get into a twist over. 8.0 Sound Not too much in the speech department, but the sound effects and music engine are pulled off well in this game. 6.0 Gameplay What's a very cool concept is brought down by repetitive action sequences that become increasingly irrelevant and obnoxious the more they're encountered. 7.5 Lasting Appeal It's a decent length, but only because of all the shooter levels that must be endured just to advance in the storyline. 6.0 OVERALL |

I got the game at (of all places) WAL-MART! I'm at the beginning of chapter 2, it's pretty fun. instead of having regular random battles, you have like a space shooter part where you have to kill a certain amount of enemies. I'll post more of an impression when I get further into it. Speaking of which, I'm fixing to go get my DS and play it some more >.>. |
