courtesy of http://www.gamefront.de/

Square Enix hat beim amerikanischen Patentamt am 07.04.05 den Namen The World of Mana schützen lassen. Um was es sich handelt, ist unklar: Es könnte der (Unter-) Titel zu einem neuen Mana-Spiel sein.

Hm...has Square announced any games for the PSP? They certainly seem enamored with the DS.

Thankfully.

They listed a Secret of Mana game for DS nearly 6 months ago so this game must be it.

I think you're thinking of Dirge of Cerberus for PS2. I wasn't aware that Crisis Core was even revealed yet.

Last I heard was that it takes place after Advent Children so I am saying it is a sequel in that regard.

http://www.square-enix.co.jp/games/psp/ccff7/

There is the official japanese site Sonic. When translated it means its the 4th game in the things that are coming out. After Crisis, Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, and Crisis Core.

Dirge of Cerberus is another Spinoff which its main character is Vincent. There isn't any information regarding Crisis Core but Square Enix confirmed that its another FF7 spinoff that will release 2006 for PSP.

I hate to play the devils advocate here, but once the PSP starts picking up more steam, that list will change dramatically I reckon.

New Secret of Mana game, eh? Hopes its better than the last one. It sucked IMHO!

If this is even close to the awesomeness that is Secret of Mana, I will be overjoyed. I've been waiting for news on the SoM game for the DS for a while, and even though this isn't much, it's still nice to hear about it. The DS would be perfect for Mana Co-op, wireless plus touch screen menu system.

Are you for real? Seriously. Square once said themselves(or another company that does ports) that all of Final Fantasy VII could fit on one N64 cart. The NDS cart can hold more than what one PSX CD could.

Square choose the route that would be more financially stable for them to take chances on. So don't go putting a fanboy spin on the situtation, bro!

Hate to sound like one myself(cause I'm not), but almost all of my GC games look better than all of my PS2 games. Get your priorities straight, man. Sheesh! Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Yeah, hmm. I would certainly agree with an online multiplayer adventure like FF:CC, but a MMORPG would be kinda crazy.
Daylahs, the news doesn't say its for DS. Everyone just guesses it.
Maybe we'll find out at E3 Smile

Yeah I'll wait for E3... but I'll crap my pants if it's an MMO for the DS. For all we know now it could be an MMO for the PSP... or a standalone adventure for PS3... or a turnbased strategy for Xbox 360 for that matter.

So.... again.... World of Mana huh? Pretty cool to have another SE game announced for DS.
If it would be an MMO it would certainly hit it of pretty well in Japan.

(Would you DS vs PSP boys stop bickering about which will overtake which please? Or do it in another thread...)

i think that sounds great, but only if it would be free (which i am assuming it would, since nintendo doesn't beleive in charging for on-line games...but that may not be possible) i would want a very extensive character making engine, and i would want some kind of mix between 2D and 3D as someone said isometric views and such (kinda like Super Mario RPG) but essentially a graphically updated SoM with a MMO story...i relaly liked the battle system in SoM, not as much in the other mana games. we shall see. a remake of SoM would be sweet too, but that's pretty doubtful (or even just SoM added in with wireless multi-player as an extra bonus, that would be SWEET)

I would be happy if WoM allowed PvP combat in certain areas. I'm not to keen on MMORPG's as of late, but the ones I know lack this. It would also be cool to design clothing with the touch screen ala Animal Crossing

playing?

They provide more and more content through out it's life. I doubt this will be an MMO though... It might be along the lines of Phantasy Starish, because the majority of MMO's that are good use Harddrives so it can store all that new data and online info.

So anyway, does anyone remember a news report a long time ago about Nintendo and Square working together on an online game? I seem to remember a report liek that but it was a while ago and we never heard anything about it since.

Yeah I remember that. Plus in one of the past EGM's the rumor section said Nintendo was working with some big publishers regarding DS online...so it'd be cool if this was part of that whole thing.

I believe so, I think Miyamoto even mentioned SE and Nintendo working together for online.

FF:CC was like MADE for online play.

And does anyone remember those two concept art screens Square released a few months ago regarding a job position? They said the screens were related to the Mana games, I think.

And it seems that if there's ONE thing Captain of America knows, it's his FF7 games. Smile

Well I just did a quick search and I found this, supposedly from EDGE magazine in the UK, about Square experimenting with bringing their PlayOnline service to the DS. I didn't see anything about Miyamoto saying they were working with SE. I remember it, but I also can't remember if that was a mistranslation or not.

Actually I believe that involved Nintendo mentioning they were working on their own online titles, and that Square also was working on their own. While they did tie into each other in the announcement, I recall them being made distinct from one another.

If they include the "bucket" in FFCC and it's online, there will be unlimited potential for annoying lamer-ness. Otherwise, it should work great.
