Star Trek Enterprise flies into the toilet http://www.comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=8201UPN and Paramount Network Television have jointly announced that this will be the final season of Star Trek: Enterprise on UPN. [Production will continue until the end of this season, which will finish shooting in March.] The series finale will air on Friday, May 13, 2005. "Star Trek has been an important part of UPN's history, and 'Enterprise' has carried on the tradition of its predecessors with great distinction," said Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, UPN. "We'd like to thank Rick Berman, Brannon Braga and an incredibly talented cast for creating an engaging, new dimension to the Star Trek universe on UPN, and we look forward to working with them, and our partners at Paramount Network Television, on a send-off that salutes its contributions to The Network and satisfies its loyal viewers." David Stapf, President of Paramount Network Television, said, "The creators, stars and crew of 'Star Trek: Enterprise' ambitiously and proudly upheld the fine traditions of the Star Trek franchise. We are grateful for their contributions to the legacy of Trek and commend them on completing nearly 100 exciting, dramatic and visually stunning episodes. All of us at Paramount warmly bid goodbye to 'Enterprise', and we all look forward to a new chapter of this enduring franchise in the future." A prequel to the original "Star Trek" series, Star Trek: Enterprise premiered on UPN on Sept. 26, 2001, and aired for its first three seasons on Wednesdays (8:00-9:00PM, ET/PT). On Oct. 8, 2004, Star Trek: Enterprise moved into its current time on Fridays (8:00-9:00PM, ET/PT). Through its four-year run, Star Trek: Enterprise produced a total of 98 episodes and earned four Emmy Awards. There will never be another "The Next Generation." Maybe they should space these series out more. Ending one series and immediately starting another is not helping. Let some anticipation build. And I shall forever loathe Brannon Braga for crippling TNG's 6th and 7th season with his assinine scripts. |

Star Trek TNG was the only one of these various Star Trek series that I watched with any faithfulness. None of the others could hold my interest. The acting was just not as good. |

The last few seasons of DS9 were actually very good. But nothing will ever come close to seasons 3-5 of TNG. I have all 3 seasons on DVD and they were worth the hefty price ($130 each) |

Last few seasons of DS9 kicked so much ass. I'd love to see a movie based on that part of star trek universe.... huge Epic war against the dominion... I watched a couple episodes of Enterprise during the first season. Kinda sucky/boring IMO. ___________________ |

I never got into Voyager because every episode I saw was the same. "Oh look!! I found a way to get us back home" After 1 hour of build-up "Oh darn, it didn't work." |

Liked them all. Didn't see enough of Enterprise to make a decision though. Probably liked DS9 the most. Came on at 2am so I always saw it. |

TNG was great, but DS9 expanded everything so much. It gave the whole universe and political situations between races so much depth. I'd say DS9 was the best Trek show. Enterprise was meh for the first 2 seasons, got better in the third, and is actually acting like a true prequel in S4. They're actually building stuff up and setting the scene for TOS/TNG. |

Yea star trek should jus be left alone for awhile. Someone will come along and create a killer idea for a show, and the scripts will be great. If this takes 20 years then so be it. Id rather hav one great show, then 3 sh1tty ones. ___________________

This is dissapointing, I've watched Enterprise since it came on and have enjoyed it since. I haven't enjoyed star trek this much since tng. DS9 and voyager were good company yeah and never missed an epsiode they just didn't have that spark that tng and enterprise had/have. |

Enterprise rocked in season 3 and still does (to a larger degree) in season 4. A shame they cancelled it. Oh well, Spike will probably pick it up and finish the last three seasons. Or the fans will buy the whole shebang. ___________________

Season 4 has been great so far. One of Star Treks best seasons, IMO. ___________________
