the best blog ever
When we last left off, Our Hero (me) was on the receiving end of a HoMedics iCush, as seen below in the previous blog. But what you DIDN'T know was that at the same time, the Fujifilm corporation made a generous offer to send in a FinePix V10 camera for evaluation, with the slightly-bittering recommendation that I mail back the camera once I'm done taking evaluatory pictures with it. Come to think of it, that evaluation time is probably about up by now. I have no mind for time, as marked by the Roman calendar. Regardless, I found myself very nearly in love with the product enough to mail back their PR department with a request that they "kiss my grits" and then just keep the camera. So, I suppose you're wondering things about this camera. Here are some things I can tell you: it is a substantial 5.1 megapixel digital camera, and in keeping with current trends the entire backside of the camera is taken up by an ample screen, rather than the tiny viewfinder you might find on your parents' camera. I say this just to let you know that this isn't your parents' digital camera.
The memory stick that comes with the camera is good for only a handful of pictures, and since this generation is trained to use no judgement or restraint whatsoever, a consumer would be wise to pick up an auxilary memory stick if they aren't able or willing to delete/upload their pictures with steady frequency. It uses some kind of weird little rechargable battery, which struck me as genius until I found myself unable to charge it. I'm sure people with more technical expertise, or those who aren't adversed to reading manuals, would have no trouble figuring this out, but those who reside with me safely outside those two definitions might be mildly flabbergasted.
Uploading pictures to a computer is as obvious as falling down, so I had no trouble with that, which benefits anyone reading this blog and hoping to see pictures in it. The first logical picture I thought to take was of the iCush from last blog's adventures. Here is a picture of the iCush box.

As you can see, it's a big box and it makes me very happy. You may also notice that there is a fairly large crown-shaped bling hanging over the box, presumably from my neck. How acute of your eyes to notice. It is in fact a crown-shaped bling that loudly and proudly announces to the world that I am a "Nintendo Powerplay Saturdays Champion". Because what else are you going to do on a Saturday but be a champion? A close up shot:

A few weeks ago (a month? again, time eludes me) the GameStop I work at ran a "tournament" in MarioKart DS with incredibly vague rules and so little advertising that literally nobody showed up with the required DS in hand. With no customers to speak of we opened the tournament to employees and predictably I rocked the house. The prize is mine; I wear it everywhere I go; you now know the whole story. Now for one obligatory gangsta shot but with the flashed gang sign cropped out so I don't get in trouble with the missus.

The best part of these pictures is that the box was given to me for running an internet Nintendo fansite, the camera that took the picture for the same reason, the chain and medal for winning a MarioKart tournament, the hat was purchased from Mega64.com, and the shirt was given to me free from jhpii.com simply upon request because James Hugh Potts, II is such a classy Georgian attorney. It's kind of hard to imagine someone like me having friends.
Anyway, back to the camera. It's nice. I'm not a salesman for Fujifilm, but I did agree to at least feature their camera and "review" it, but the only way I know to do that is to show you pictures that I've taken with it. I'll post more later on in the week.
As for the iCush, I lied. That box does not contain an iCush. Due to a mixup (or a vindictive warehouse foreman) I received an actual massage chair instead which I had half a mind to just keep. But it's all been sorted out with HoMedics, their chair is back on it's way to them and the iCush has recently arrived. I've been looking for my copy of The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction to truly test its immersive abilities, but since I can't find it I suppose Smash Bros. will have to do. I'll let you guys know if it "rocks the house" or not.

I have absolutely no argument to that fact. FYI to readers: Danny is a MarioKart stud supreme.
