Stellar Dawn announced by Jagex, sign up for the beta

Jagex, the creators of RuneScape, have announced their new browser-based MMO Stellar Dawn, as well as the opportunity to sign up for a closed beta. Taking place in a sci-fi universe, players will be able to explore a huge world with plenty of single player and co-operative content. Much like RuneScape, a large portion of the game will available for free, but you will have the choice to pay for premium content, whatever that may be.

Details of the game are actually quite scarce, but if you're into sci-fi and don't mind an MMO, you might as well visit the home page here and hit the big "Apply" button to try and get into the closed beta. You'll need to enter your email address, and they'll also do a quick scan of your computer's hardware (don't worry, no personal data is taken), no doubt to see if their audience will actually be able to play the game they're making.

I used to be into RuneScape for a while years ago, so if this manages to expand on their formula, or take on a new form altogether, then I'll definitely try it out when it arrives in 2011.
