Bill Watterson Finally Talks About 'Calvin & Hobbes'

Posted February 2nd 2010 by Jared Thomas.

Plain Dealer reporter John Campanelli somehow fished answers from The Man Himself about the comics masterpiece he walked away from 15 years ago.  Unfortunately he missed the opportunity to bag n' tag Watterson, chain him to a desk, and force him to bring more gold to the no-longer-terribly-funny pages.

This marks the 15th year since "Calvin and Hobbes" said goodbye to the comics pages. Creator Bill Watterson, who grew up in Chagrin Falls and still makes Greater Cleveland his home, recently answered some questions via e-mail from Plain Dealer reporter John Campanelli. It's believed to be the first interview with the reclusive artist since 1989.
