End Boss Month: Day 17 (Evil Black Jewel, Wario World)

EVIL BLACK JEWEL

Wario World (GCN)

Long ago, there was an Evil Black Jewel that fed on the wishes of people, turning their desires into power. This dark jewel gave birth to many evil spirits who then tormented the good creatures of the world.
Then, just when it seemed like the evil spirits would overrun the land, the Spritelings of the Sacred Forest ensnared the black jewel and hid it away deep within the ancient ruins. But over time, those events were all but forgotten, and one day a greedy treasure hunter stole the jewel from the ruins...
A greedy treasure hunter? It must be none other than Wario! And once the Evil Black Jewel is set free, it transforms Wario's castle into some of the craziest platforming worlds to ever grace the GameCube. As Wario collects his prized treasures spread across the land, he almost selflessly frees the aforementioned Spritelings from the confines of little boxes.
Four worlds, eight levels, and twelve bosses later, Wario takes on the Evil Black Jewel in hopes of restoring his castle.
Bringing our antihero to great heights atop an energy field, the Evil Black Jewel is out to destroy Wario. It anticipates where Wario moves and blasts a line of scorching flames, in combination with fireballs and shockwaves to prevent him from freeing the crystallized Spritelings. After being attacked by five Spritelings, the Jewel becomes stunned and susceptible to Wario's devastating piledriver attack.
The Jewel is smart... but not clever. It lets Wario do this not three times, not four times, but eight times! "I WIN!! I WIN!!" Wario proclaims as the Evil Black Jewel is smashed into powder.
As for the Spritelings Wario selflessly rescued? Ever grateful for undoing the suffering that he unleashed, they rebuild his domain with a small box of supplies and Michael Jacksonesque dance moves. Is Wario impressed? That depends entirely on how many of the forty Spritelings were freed.
