End Boss Month: Day 12 (Super Smash Bros. Melee, Giga Bowser)
Posted December 6th 2005 by Joe DeCoursey.
GIGA BOWSER

Super Smash Bros. Melee (GCN)

It wasn't as if trying to beat adventure mode in under eight-teen minutes on hard was enough to challenge even the hardest of hardcore. The developers at HAL just had to throw in the ultimate king of all koopas, Giga Bowser, at the very end to torture you even more. This incarnation of Bowser looks like he teleported himself to the Ninja Turtles universe, drank some ooze and returned to Super Smash Bros. Melee. Having a more menacing look then his usual Mario counter part, he is the tallest and biggest character in the game. His eyes pierce through even the bravest man's soul and his horns look like they once belonged to a Balrog. His massive size takes up a third of Final Destination alone, making it almost near impossible to dodge any of his attacks when cornered at the edge of the small, bland, and flat level.
His attacks are like regular Bowser's to the capital T. The only difference though is that Giga Bowser's moves are more powerful then regular Bowser's making the already challenging challenge more challenging. This behemoth is not something that should be taken lightly with his super charged moves. When I played against him I barely escaped with my life. I beat him out of pure luck.
If you managed to survive this grueling battle with either skill or luck you are rewarded with a trophy describing your defeated foe. It might not be much but at least you can brag to other Super Smash Bros. Melee owners that you have it and they don't. Then you can be made fun of for investing so much time and energy into something that is meaningless in the real world.
