E3 is on! The trade show aspect of it, that is. We got up early despite having been up so late with the Binary guys, and caught a quick (slow) bus to the L.A. Convention Center to take part in the festivities.

Desiré: Former N-Philes writer Vincent Anderson (a.k.a. forumer SS4Gogita), who's an e-buddy-turned-real-buddy of ours in Florida, looks on as we get all cuddly for the cam.
Jared: Here we see Vincent sporting an über-lame and mandatorily-worn PGC staff shirt. It features a Gamecube controller symbol on the front, a website address on the back, and a demeaned and broken man in between. Actually Vincent went on to win just about every contest give-away at the convention, so he had the last laugh.

Jared: One of the first DS games I tried out was Electroplankton; after the impressive display during the Nintendo conference, I figured it'd be a blast. And while it looked addictively gorgeous and played seamlessly enough that my first instincts on how to move plankton usually proved to be the right way, I didn't spend too much time on it. See, due to the show floor being so loud, I couldn't really hear the musical product of manipulating the plankton, so I just positioned their paths into what I thought might be funny and snapped a pic.
Desiré: Electroplankton was fun but also slightly disappointing, since you can't save the music you create...

Jared: Oh man, this one was a surprise. I didn't even know there was a surgeon game for DS until Desiré and I spotted Trauma Center in a DS kiosk and instantly fell for it.
Desiré: BEST GAME FOR DS EVER! Oh my gosh this was so much fun, getting to play surgeon and all, that I think I ended up at this kiosk about ten times throughout the convention!

Jared: Here's a closeup of Nurse Desiré's handiwork. I believe she's applying some kind of antiseptic to a wound after finishing up the surgery.
Desiré: I'm an excellent physician apparently.

Jared: Even though it was already released in the US, I hadn't gotten my hands on Puyo Pop Fever until E3. It was a fun treat, though I would have preferred to play it against a human rather than the computer. The Meteos display let gamers play 1-on-1, and I think it did a much better job of showing off how fun the game can be.
Desiré: Puyo Pop was fun, but almost exactly like Mean Bean Machine so it wasn't anything that was too difficult to pick up if you've ever played any sort of Tetris-esque game in your life.

Desiré: Link is squeezing my arm so much that it slightly hurts. We were standing in front of this cell that caged a scary looking Stalfos guy who kept slashing at his bars to keep the atmosphere up, so I assume the squeezing was some sort of a protection thing...
Jared: Maybe it's more of a result of you squeezing his ass so hard under the tunic. Yeah, I caught that. And if I hadn't done the same, I'd be in a better position to give you a hard time about it.

Jared: Link wolf! This picture woud have been less blurry if I wasn't shaking in my boots so much. Still, I think it's a pretty cool shot.
Desiré: This was amazing. I swear, the entire Zelda "booth" (I quote it since it wasn't so much a booth as a huge three-room exhibit) was just breathtaking. When you first walked in you saw some "ghosts" projected on the dungeon wall, and then there was this interactive bridge over water projected on the ground. Turning left from there you'd see the jail cell I mentioned earlier complete with Stalfos warrior, and then there was this thing, this animatronic wolf that jumped out to try to bite you. Simply awesome, it was like being in some amusement park funhouse!

Desiré: Here I am with Alison of Binary Culture. We had such a good time together and best of all shared the coolest passion: the color pink. We both went nutso over the new gameboy mini in the hot pink translucent color, and bonding never went so smoothly. But it was hot and I was tired of carrying around all the bags of swag around and just wanted a drink, which fyi were waaaay too expensive there.
Jared: Oh it was hot all right. But it got even hotter when these two nymphos got back to the hotel room and really got down to bonding!!! To see the rest, check out the upcoming Gamers Gone Wild DVD hitting N-Philes later this June.

Desiré: This is a good chunk of the Nintendo products that will be available in various stores throughout the country. There were some pretty cool things, but nothing really so extraordinarily jawdropping that we spent too much time drooling over the display.
Jared: Actually, on Friday when they started actually giving away most of the "display only" stuff, we spent about twenty minutes drooling over this display before realizing they weren't giving anything else away. Chislers.

Desiré: After over a year of phone calls, I finally meet Adrian DeHerrerrrrrra (writer for N-Sider and N-Philes forum member Xavius), a pretty hip guy with an awesome pair of shades. Ben Mercer from N-Sider (Sir Burly Bee on these forums) was there too, but I think he had gone into the media room or something to avoid being seen with me. Due to time constraints and such, hanging out wasn't really an option, but hopefully next year, we'll get to go out to dinner or something and make fun of all the people who hang out on Hollywood Blvd.
Jared: Both were shorter than expected, but also friendlier than expected! I noted that I was punched in the face significantly fewer times than has been promised me over our respective forum acquaintances. I was both relieved and disappointed, as I could really use a good punch in the face.

Jared: Oh man what a hot threesome this would make. I had to beat down like five other nerds to get my picture taken with this fine Hyrulian couple.
Desiré: Notice how Jared is cozing up to Link? I know I certainly had a few questions by the time picture taking was over. I'm surprised he didn't have to change his pants before the day was up.
Jared:Are you kidding? I'm never changing my pants again.

Desiré: Here we are in the lobby of Magic Johnson's theater as we're buying advance tickets for Revenge of the Sith the next night. We kill some time by re-enacting some choreography from the Matrix, although this picture does not accurately portray just how awesome we were at it!
Jared: We're specifically mimicking The Matrix: Reloaded fight scenes, since those are easier as they essentially boil down to close-fisted pattycake. By the way, Reloaded sucks.
