Hollywood Blog: The E3 2005 Scrapbook

Posted June 12th 2005 by J Edison Thomas and Daisy Garcia.

Jared: What a clever banner, eh? Anyway, it's about three weeks after-the-fact, and that sounds like the perfect time for us to take a look back on the week Desiré and I spent in L.A. during E3 and share it with you goobers.

Desiré: This is going to make me want to go back now, just so you know.

Jared: Taking it day by day, starting on...

SUNDAY!

After an eight hour drive to Daisy's mother's house on Saturday, we woke up at four in the morning to get to the airport in Biloxi, MS, and fly from there into LAX. That's where the adventure begins.

Jared: What a bust! After a nine hour flight with two layovers, we arrived in L.A. bagless. So here we are in the airport lobby sitting next to a pillar near the baggage claim conveyor belts, still worrying/wondering what happened while it's dawning on us that someone lost our bags.

Desiré: Super pissed, yet still wishfully thinking that our bags would come in on the next flight. Boy, were we ever wrong.

Jared: And if things couldn't get any worse, it took nearly two hours for us to get a hold of our shuttle to the hotel we were staying at, "The L.A. Adventurer". The hotel later redeemed itself with raw coolness, but the shuttle driver is forever on my enemies list. I must admit at this point I also felt like crying, or at least beating the snot out of someone.

Desiré: I can't believe Jared took a picture of me crying at the shuttle stop. I was not only upset at the thought that we had nothing but our backpacks and the fact that my medication was in my suitcase, but the stupid shuttle bus driver kept passing right by us, ignoring our waving and shouting to stop! Not to mention that it was way colder than I had expected it to be and I was freezing.

Jared: There's rage in those eyes, if you look closely. Luckily Blur's The Great Escape helped calm my nerves and pass the time during the wait for the hotel shuttle.

Desiré: You look really good in that pic, though. Rage is a good look for you.

Jared: Once we finally got in the shuttle, we passed a giant sign reading "LAX" on the way out of the airport and I commented, "LAX more like Ex-LAX! You know? Because of poop?" Alas, Desiré was too emotionally traumatized to enjoy my slam against the City of Angels and its crappy airport.
