Player's Choice List Expands
Posted September 27th 2004 by Kenny.
The list of Player's Choice titles for the GameCube could be getting bigger. Find out which games may squeeze into your budget this year.
According to an inside source, popular toy and video game retail chain, Toys "R" Us, has prepared flyers to advertise a price drop for current GameCube Player's Choice titles, as well as add a new one to the list. Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, Mario Sunshine, and Animal Crossing, all games which have been previously included as Player's Choice titles, are going to drop price from $29.99 to $19.99. As well, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker will make its transition to the collection, however, rather than lower in price later on it will immediately go straight to $19.99.According to a Nintendo representative, Nintendo is trying to phase out the $29.99 price point to start selling Player's Choice titles exclusively at $19.99. That would explain Wind Waker's quick jump to the lower price. Naturally there has been no official confirmation from Nintendo, but as fans who buy these games ourselves, we certainly hope it's true. Also, there is no established date from the flyer either, however our source stated it could be sometime around the 4th or 5th of October.

Finally ithey have learned. 30 is just too much for a budget game.

I've got all of those games except for Mario Golf, maybe I'll pick it up if I somehow manage to find myself some cash. I wonder if the European's will be getting Animal Crossing for the equivalent of $20 as well?

I think that drop to $30 was stupid, i'm glad they got rid of it and now go straight to $20.

About time this happens. I don't buy games at $50 anymore, it's a complete waste, but $20 for Mario Golf is ok, might pick it up until Mario Tennis is cheap.

Cube + Prime and Wind Waker for $120? You have got to be kidding me. What a bargain.
